I thought some people might find it interesting/ helpful if I shared my experience about going to one of the casting call locations for Americas Next Top Model for last cycle.

I live in the Seattle Washington Area and there was a casting call in a city about 4-5 hours away, so my mom and I decided to make a road trip out of it and drive over there. It was at a hotel/ Casino so we drove the day before and spent the night. I was really excited and anxious and expected there to be a bunch of tall skinny girls all in the lobby and everywhere.

When I got there I had to check the address twice, because there was no indication of the casting call, most of the hotel staff seemed somewhat clueless and not another girl around my age to be seen for miles. We eventually found someone who told us that registration begun at 8:30am but people will probably begin to line up at 7:45am.

The next day I got up nice and early, found my best outfit to wear and grabbed my application papers, pictures, ID and passport. I got down to the lobby area around 7:30-7:45 and I was the second person in line, one after another other girls began to trickle in. It gave me some time to talk to the girls I was sitting next to and finish up any last details on the “Participant Application”. You are also required to bring three pictures, a close up, a fully body, and a bikini. I had a few pictures so I asked some of the girls around me for advice on what pictures I should use. The range of professionalization of the models really ranged, some of the girls I talked to had really high quality pictures and some had pictures they had taken on their cell phone in the mirror. So eventually by the time 8:30 hit and the people were ready to check us in there was MAYBE 20 girls in line.  We all stood up and got a small raffle ticket and were told to come back at three to actually get in the door and audition. 

So not only did we all have to wake up super early just to get a little raffle ticket and then be told to come back way later. But we were told that if more than 50 girls showed up then they were going to randomly pick 50 girls to audition. I was incredibly pissed off about this. Like I did not drive 5 hours to come to this random hotel and not even get to audition just because my raffle ticket wasn’t called. HELL NO.

So for the next hours I slept a bit, then went to see if there were more people, got some lunch in the hotel, asked the people in charge of the ANTM thing how many people had showed up. And finally the time for the actual audition came, and the time to see if everyone would get to audition. 

We were taken to this big room with a small stage and a bunch of chairs, some of the girls working came up and told us thank you for coming and good luck. Then she told us only about 51 people signed up so everyone could audition. So they called the first 10 people who were in line (me) and we were brought to a table where we had to give this girl an envelope that had our name, hometown, phone number and audition number on it. We put our pictures, application and a photo copy of our Social Security card and ID or Passport or a combination of the three. I didn’t know we needed that, so my mom ran and got the front desk to do that for me.

The 10 of us were lead to a small room with a big ass camera and a runway. We were told to hold up our packet and tell our name, age, hometown, phone number, height, weight. We stood profile, profile back and front, and had the camera do an up and down of each. Then we were asked “what makes you a good model” “why would you be Americas Next Top Model” and “what is the craziest thing you have ever done” Then we did a runway walk and left. In my group there was had a strange variety, I know I am probably on the bigger side of “model” but most of the girls were shorter and a bit bigger than me, which I did not expect. Also alot of them seemed like they had never walked in heels before, much less walked on a runway in them. Apparently each group took about an hour, so I’m REALLY happy I got in line early and was in the first group. 

I obviously didn’t get in, but it was an exciting experience for sure. But personally if I choose to audition again I am just going to take a home video because you can make it much more personal and otherwise it is just the same idea. Hope this helped if anyone was wondering what it is like. Also I have no idea if it is the same everywhere else. I think I read something like this that was extremely different so who knows if different locations have the same experience.

Anyhoo back to my friend Jessica (http://peaceloveandtattooink.tumblr.com/), she got married last month and I was her maid of honor as well as making her wedding dress and veil! it was alot to take on since it was right around the same time as PAX but it all came together wonderfully here are some pictures of her dress. I had never done boning or corset work or a veil before but all in all it turned out pretty great and i think she had a wonderful time so here are some pictures of the dress!

So last night I was talking to boyfriend and was like, “hm, i wonder since your brother is all famous now if you are google-able”
he wasnt :/

but then I was like “I’m super google-able see!” >up pops my facebook, modelmeyhem, myspace, deviantart all this shit. (not sure if that is actually good)
so i went to Images and this popped up as like the second image

super cute right? (this is boyfriend if you dont know)
but it was on some guys flicker, and he had less than 50 pictures from PAX and probably 4 other cosplayers but this one was like LABELED with my name. like…. its cool and all but who is this person and why do they know my full name? 
also obviously it wasnt someone wanting a pic of my cosplay since im posing with boyfriend.
I think i know who it is. but idk I’m still torn between weirded out and “hey at least its a good picture” >_<

so got my grades back. and now i am on academic warning if i get less than a 2.0 again i get kicked out of school :T
so. ya. fuck my life.
my boyfriend said i should get profiderall, its like aderall, but not as intense. ya…

on less sucky news i guess
I got offered to be in a fashion show next weekend :D which I am going to be a part of. Im excited. should be fun, and they are going to New York fashion week so you never know what could happen ;)

also since im basically talking to myself anyway
ive been considering making a facebook fan page for myself (right? how cocky am i? >_>)
 Like i could put my cosplay and my modeling stuff on there, and for photographers  i could have a bigger variety of photos, and i could have people message me on there instead.
idk tumblr what do you think? is it weird and cocky if i make one, or would it be kinda fun and professional?
I wanted to wait until I got a paid job or something. but idk. i might, i could put like cosplay progress and stuff too…

I just got back from spring break so here is what you all have been missing

School: Last quarter I felt wasnt that bad, one of my teaches was an ass but i liked her class, so whatever. I actually got worried that I didnt pass Econ BUT turns out I got a C. FUCK YEA. guh I wish I did better in School, but I am trying. This quarter I am only taking 3 classes but they are ALL focused on Business so I need to do good in all of them. None of them sound fun at all, but I really only have heavy amount of classes on Monday and Wed so that is pretty awesome. 
Work: I got new shifts as I do each quarter and I got a FUCKING DISHROOM SHIFT i dont want to wash dishes in my own house much less during work. shitty, and my roommate got a manager position so she will be working all the time (she hasnt got home from work yet!) but hey she gets free meals so she can buy me food haha.

Cosplay: excited for Sakura-con coming up soon~ I have ALL of my Black Rock Shooter cosplay done and two photoshoots lined up for it on Saturday. My friend Amanda is making my Cannon and I just really hope she gets it done in time >< it would add so much to the costume, I would work on it here if i could… but I have NO room. Also I have not very much more work left to do on my Jane costume. I just have to dirty it up and my leopard needs to be more yellow, My dad and I tried to dye it, but it did not turn out like i would have hoped :/ we might paint it or something im not sure. but we made some BADASS eyes and nose and teeth for it, its gonna be so awesome. Im really excited to be part of a big group again. we have a photoshoot lined up for that as well (this will be happening Friday of con)
 Also I feel like I will have a lot of spare time with this new school schedule and I am thinking that with it I will have more time to sew. I need to work on my friend Jessica’s wedding dress, im SOOOOOO excited because I now have everything I need to get started.
Future cosplays: okay so also I am thinking of Cosplays for PAX, now I really want to do Jeane from No More Heroes. 

but my boyfriend says its a bit too revealing. And ya I get that she is wearing basically a bikini bottom, but idk it is my favorite game ever and I basically have all the supplies except the body paint. I just love the game so much and I would consider cosplaying a different character but Bad Girl I feel is over cosplayed and I dont really like Sylvia. 
also I REALLY want to cosplay from this game coming out called SkullGirls, But I am not sure who to choose to cosplay as. Now I am leaning toward Valentine

but she is a bit more titty-licious than I am/would like to wear but idk of the game footage she is def one of my favs.  The other option is Filia 

but I def dont have dem hips and that wig looks crazy. Idk my boyfriend said of all of them I should cosplay her but idk I think I like Valentine more

Boyfriend: HE IS LEAVING ME FOR TWO WEEKS TO GO TO THE PHILIPPINES. what am I going to do, I dont think we will be able to text or talk like at all guh Im gonna go on some serious withdrawl. ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO MENTION that he is going to miss helping my mother move, and OUR TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY :CCCCCCCCCC and he might even miss con. But he is going to go spend time with his whole family, and his brother who just got out of the hospital, and he will get to see his grandma and family he hasnt seen since he was really little, so thats good for him and Im happy for him but at the same time SO SAAAADDDD :CCCCCCC

Famiriy: my mom is moving next weekend GOD IM SO EXCITED. she/I wont have to drive over 1000000000 speed bumps just to get to her place, she wont have to walk up 3 flights of stairs, she can park right in front of her house, ITS A HOUSE. and no stupid dogs or neighbors that are annoying.
also this week I worked alot with my dad on my cosplay stuff and it was alot of fun, I feel like we really bonded :3

Spring break things:  OKAY, so I did a few photoshoots, one with my friend Kaz, but that was basically just cosplay so meh. Then I escorted my friend Kindra to her photoshoot (where she modeled) and then we ran around like crazy people trying to catch the light for our photoshoot (where she was the photographer), then went BACK to her place and took moar pictures

then the day after I worked with a new photographer Micheal Miller, It was a fun super quick shoot.

My boyfriend and I saw 21 Jump Street. OH GOD SO FUCKING FUNNY GO SEE IT RIGHT NOW. so much cursing so much penis humor my boyfriend was laughing so loud the whole time, and we quoted it all night long.

Also I saw the Hunger Games with my Mom today. That was also really good!~ A good amount of action and enough romance that it wasnt annoying idk I liked it, From both two people who have read the books they seemed less impressed.

also on Tuesday i went to go hang out with my friend but ended up doing a photoshoot, I’m pretty excited to see how it comes out its like cute nerdy themed

Also today I worked with someone i had met through Model Mayhem. last time i worked with someone I met through MM it was really weird and awkward and unpleasant(still waiting on those picks btw :T). This time I brought my boyfriend and it was actually a really comfortable shoot. He was super chill and funny, we did the shoot at where he worked so he had alot of phone calls and people he had to talk to so the shoot probably could have been like an hour shorter. But all in all it was very pleasant and comfortable and I would TOTALLY do another shoot with him. He gave me a CD with all the pictures and said I can pick 7 for him to edit. He was really helpful, teaching me some modeling techniques and being very encouraging and giving feed back. really great. cant wait to see the final pictures.

AND potentially Sunday I am going to this big “semi-formal” Christmas shoot. uhh basically I was going to hang with friends that day, but my friends were like “lets do this instead” I would rather hang/ sew with them than do a photoshoot with this guy who is kinda a creeper, but…whatever i guess. hella portfolio building~

This week has been HECTIC!!

Thursday I had my NEODANDI FASHION SHOW!! it went really good. I got my hair and makeup done which was really fun and I wore fake eyelashes for the first time EVER

The actual show was unfortunately cut short due to time restraint i believe but it was a pretty awesome experience. It was upsetting we didnt get to do the whole show mainly because we practiced so much. But apparently there was a European production guy at the show who wants to film the whole show, full length with hair, makeup stage lights and send it back, which is what i really want to do, but the unfortunate thing is that it is THIS THURSDAY. WTF i just drove SO FUCKING MUCH this weekend i dont want to have to drive more, again. not to mention that Dave is coming up here this Wed-Thu and if i have to cut it short that would suck since Wed is Dave’s B-day RAAAHHHHH RAGE

BACK ON TRACK:

Friday night i went out with my roomies which was pretty fun. Some guy totally puked on the carpet and then people kept unknowingly stepping in it, super gross, and some seriously slutty costumes to be witnessed, as expected. 

Then Saturday i went to my friend’s Halloween party where my boyfriend and I dressed up as PANDA’S :DDDD

OH also other fun exciting news. Dave/ my BF (if you guys havent gotten that connection yet) his little brother (Kevin) is on the show “big brother” but the Philippine version called “Pinyo Big Brother” he actually got scouted in Cali and is now living in the Philippines to be on this show. its pretty intense Dave says it is very likely that he will become super famous down there.  

But i think it is just so interesting, I have (obviously) met Kevin a few times when visiting Dave and he is super cool and a good kid, so, vote or support or whatever you do for him~~
